A Letter to You, Beloved of Christ: Section II
The Sacred Heart of Jesus, (His whole self) is in
every Tabernacle throughout the whole world. He is the Prisoner of Love who
remains in the Tabernacle for love of us; and from every Tabernacle does the
River of the Water of Life flow forth; encountering the soul like a sweet kiss,
like a heavenly embrace between the creature and the Creator. Why then do we
keep our Lord locked up in the prison of the Tabernacle without visiting Him? “I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
(Mt 25:36b) says the Lord. Will we
not come? Will we abandon Him to be alone? Will we come and adore the King Most
High?
It is in Adoration therefore that we encounter the
Lord in all fullness; and in receiving Him that we ourselves become Living
Tabernacles of Love. “It is wrong” says Pope Benedict XVI “to set celebration
and adoration against each other, as if they were competing.” (Homily of His
Holiness Benedict XVI, 7 June 2012). This is because Adoration is the
celebration of the Risen Lord! And our Lord wishes to dance in every soul! For He
who is Joy desires to celebrate within us; if only we let Him in. If we refuse
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament we are likened to a beggar who foolishly refuses
to dance with his King, who for love and joy of us stoops so low to ask us to
dance with Him.
You are a Bride of Christ and Son of God, every man
is a Bride of Christ and Son of God; and indeed every woman is a Bride of
Christ and Son of God. With “the mind of Christ” (1 Cor 2:16) we can
understand, with the mind of man we cannot. Sing
and break into song says the Lord, “for
your Maker is your Husband” (Is 54: 5), and “you will forget the shame of your
youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more” (Is 54:
4b). “My covenant of Peace shall not be removed” (Is 54:10), this is the final
covenant, the Holy Eucharist which is My Covenant of Shalom which means peace,
wholeness and completeness. For indeed you lack nothing when you receive Me in
Holy Communion says the Lord. And
this covenant shall establish you in righteousness, that is in right
relationship with Me (Is 54: 14). For I give to you Myself who is the very Righteousness
of God; and you inherit all that I have and Am. Since “for our sake he made
him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness
of God” (2 Cor 5:21). And thus you shall declare
My beloved, says the Lord: ‘I am
nothing, but in My Lord I am everything and possess all things! Alleluia! Alleluia!’.
